DENVER (CBS4) – Denver police are continuing to investigate a possible bomb threat in downtown Denver.
The threat resulted in the Hyatt Regency hotel to be evacuated early Saturday morning. Police say hotel valet discovered a suspicious white pickup truck parked near the hotel on Welton Street and alerted police.

Police spokesperson Raquel Lopez said officers discovered some sort of device inside the truck.
“At that time they felt a credible threat,” Lopez said.
Several city blocks were subsequently shut down. The hotel was fully evacuated around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Guests were taken to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts complex.

Denver police would not confirm what kind of device was found in the truck but say the bomb squad used a “Disrupter” on the vehicle, which may have resulted in a loud boom.
The area was cleared around 5 a.m. with guests being allowed back inside their rooms.
Denver police spoke to a person of interest but as of Monday have no suspects.
