DENVER (AP) – Denver police cited 10 people in two separate raids on Denver pot clubs packed with visitors for the 4/20 marijuana celebrations.

The first sting happened Saturday at the POTUS club.

Five people were cited on charges including selling marijuana, unlawful operation of an unlicensed marijuana business and merchant guard violations, which mean they didn’t have the required security on the premises.

The second sting was at a club called Grassroots. Five people were cited for charges including distribution of marijuana, public consumption and merchant guard violations.

Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez says she doesn’t know what prompted the club investigations or whether they were timed to coincide with April 20 celebrations. Colorado allows recreational pot sales, but only by state-licensed dispensaries and not in private clubs.
